TILE INSTALLATIONS:
Question: How long after the grout is installed can I walk on the floor?
Answer: Most grouts can be walked on the day after installation.
Question: Do I need to call a plumber?
Answer: Moralex Flooring does not do any plumbing or electrical work. Therefore, if you need to remove and reset a toilet, unhook
and replace faucets or fixtures, or replace sinks for us to install the tile, you will need the services of a plumber.
Question: How can I prevent mold?
Answer: Mold and mildew are living organisms. Like all living things, they need food, air and water to thrive. In a shower for example, you give them air and water in abundance. Their food is the the thin film of shampoos and conditioners that we leave on the tile and grout. So, the best way to prevent mold and mildew is by routine cleaning (please see our maintenance page). We at Moralex Flooring follow carefully the methods recommended by the Tile Council of North America (TCNA) to prevent mold from growing behind the tile but robbing them of water and food.
Question: Is there anything I can do myself to save money on my tile installation?
Answer: Yes. If you are remodeling and would like to tackle the demolition yourself, let us know.
Question: I hate cleaning grout. Is there anything that can prevent stains?
Answer: Yes and no. There are sealers that can be applied to the grout after it is dry that are absorbed and help to prevent stains. These types of sealers are the least expensive, but need to be reapplied from time to time. There are additives such as "GroutBoost" that are mixed directly with the grout that do not need to be reapplied as they are bonded with the grout itself. There are epoxy equivalent grouts that are not as expensive as standard epoxy grout that perform very well as stain resisters, buying you time to get the material that can stain off the tile before it does damage. The ultimate choice (which is used in commerial restaurants) is epoxy grout. A combination of epoxy and cement-based grout, this has the best resistance to staining. Keep in mind, that there is no product out there that is "stain proof" However, all of these products will make it much easier for you to really enjoy your tile.
